Holy Wars, Holy Tears

In the last years the fast grow of online gaming market brought also the roleplay online platforms out of their traditional niche of gamers/roleplayer to a larger crowd of consumers. This new players generally haven’t a proper roleplay or gaming experience and not used to deal with concepts and mechanics that are obvious to any “old-school” roleplayer.
Why do we care for this? Because this new kind of players/consumers in the last years are also floodding SL places and play systems more oriented to roleplay. They come from MMORPG like World of Warraft, Guild Wars, Aion, Diablo... They are used to game mechanics shaped by the game industry to cuddle them (and their wallets): they expect simplcity and ease,  their gameplay background is focused on interaction with AI bots and scripted roleplay scenarios  more than with other players.

An open mind

"An open mind is like a fortress with its gates unbarred and unguarded"

As far as I look back to our roleplay Liderc always had a “territorial” feeling and such a fetish for their home bases, castles, dungeons or whatever. These days we completing a new rebuild of our home in the new Masada location.
In the past 4-5 years Liderc changed several times bases and locations. I counted 9 different bases: the first 4 of them following one another in Reverance, then the 3 rebuilds in Spiritus Sancti, 2 in Masada (not considering here the minor outpost we had in Judgment because it lasted only few weeks and was never really operative).

So we crossed years, buildings, roleplay/combat systems, always searching for fun, building gameplay as we rebuilt our bases, mazes, outposts.
And always rocking stagnant waters, often causing tears doing this (for this we’re glad: gamers’ tears best tears).

Awaking things...

To all Masada residents.

Today, during the work to remove debris from the bridge ruined by the recent earthquake a strange creature showed up from the river. This creature proved to be hostile and dangerous. We're doing research about it. In the meantiime everyone have to pay attention and stay on guard.

** The Masada Town Council **

Abe and Penny looking at earthquake damage to see how to fix things...decide to call others in to help.

Learn to play

I made a resolution to not write again about this kind of stuff; however my friends in NOR keep calling me to tell and laugh together about the NOR General Manager (also known as Bizarre Obscure) daily obsessions; it's always a good fun. Like this note where, again, he (Bizarre Obscure) blaming some group of players for his own unability:
(Bizarre Obscure): demon notices Posted at 2012/04/30 00:57
Perhaps the Abyss do not understand my role as Tyrant and Caretaker of Demonkind.
Last time Abyss was an accepted element they were thus agressive that the Crusader alliance was born.It wa Demonkind who eventually stood at the basis of cleaning up the Crusaders long after Abyss departed from NoR.
Responcebillity for the Responcible and if you can't clean your own mess, why should I allow you to make it in the first place.
Moron.

Our restless souls

Generally we do not post about the Liderc iniziations. However in this case is in some way "special" since Waki Toki is our first recruit since we moved the Family from NOR and started to build Masada, we found her shy and a bit scared and brought in Liderc to train, as in Liderc traditions. Once again we're proud to share our blood.

Thee brethren shall find you
and no matter how far away you are
whomever stands in between us
our restless souls shall answer your call

Under the Iron Sky

In my previous blog post entitled Stairway To Haeven, I was kidding about old NOR stuff found on the net. For some reason this bothered Asiandragon Slade and this make me sad. Asian should understand as being friends doesn’t mean everyone have to suck up to Bizarre Obscure.
Also, a person blessed with an average intelligence should see how the rule currently in force in NOR “smile or get banned” does not apply to free people not playing in NOR and not intrested at all. In these cases trying that kind of approach generally can lead only to a “kiss my butt” reply.
However it’s all fun for us - and I’m grateful to the dozens of norians calling me daily to tell some new jokes about  Bizarre Obscure, JD Llewyln and their gang of subnormals. I love to hear it.
One of their current occupation consist in manipulating or deleting DCS sheets and writing insults on it. All this against people that have done nothing bad and are not even playing in NOR.

Stairway to Heaven

Some days are slow at work is slow and you get bored. In such days sometime I like to give random words to the Google search and engine and then browsing the results hoping from link to link.

So today I had a blast running in a this nice archeologic find from the Second Age (NOR). I've to thank Xue Udimo for this, he's polite enough to share his NOR Admin's screenshots and documents in a public blog :)

Anyway, the ugly thing in the picture is the so-called "Stairway to Heaven", a materpiece of Liderc defensive architetture, a path of ramps designed to make the access to our home hard for enemies. Ugly, yes, but very effective: I stil smile pleased remembering all tose OOC grieffers and gankers sent by Bizarre Obscure (as in the case of this pic) to harrass NOR players. And their whines, their babies cries when the Stairway to Heaven defeted and stopped them... Never tears were more sweet.

The Third Age

We're updating Liderc documents to fit witht he last changes and the relocation in the new sim of Masada. First change is the general info notecard. Beside some minor adjustment the major change is related to the Liderc history; here we had to redefine our faction timeline branchin the storyline in 3 majore "ages".

Here the preview of this part :
